Homemade Mac and Cheese Recipe
Marvelous Mac and Cheese
8 ounce elbow macaroni, cooked according to the package directions.
2 tablespoons trans fat free margarine
2 tablespoons all purpose flower
2 cups evaporated skim milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 egg, beaten
Direction - Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a large saucepan, melt margarine, whisk in flour ad cook for 2 minutes over medium heat. Whisk in milk, mustard and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and stir in cheese until melted. Remove from heat and stir in egg plus cooked macaroni. Spoon into lightly greased 8 inch square baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
